This is an excellent project.

I'd like to see it taken one step further by having the underlying data stored using a open public data standard. Examples include AIIM and ANSI X12's CICA Framework. This would facilitate a reduction of costs to comply with FOIA requests and the ability to provide the public with standardized instructions and even scripts and other programs to extract information requests.

This is what is needed to let our elected officials remember we are here more than just during the campaign. Thank you for the new source of communication!

Letters take too long in our digital culture, I can never get through on the phone and that communication is inadequate on nuanced issue topics anyway, and I don't believe there is any possible way that email can make an effective impact given how much Congresspeople receive. Something like Project One has potential to suss out the nuance and round out a topical discussion so that our elected representatives can hear nuance in our soundbite society. Best of luck making this project successful, Wayne!

Wayne, Marvelous idea! I find that NM state senators, for example, will add me to their generic emailings after I've corresponded with them, but these generally offer no way to reply. And there is the matter of issues at the local, state and national level...it would be great to be able to voice my opinion/share ideas with all the relevant decision-makers in one place that they read and respond to. I will mention openforum.org in my next GoRealtySantaFe.com newsletter, and look forward to being part of this project. All good things! Aysha

You Street, an initiative of Americans for Campaign Reform, supports any effort that seeks to improve communication between constituents and Congress. Kudos to you!

I've always felt frustrated in not having the savvy to know the best way to reach my elected official and have my voice heard. The Open Form Foundation sounds like it could be a perfect tool for me in that regard.
